Service Description
BC Emergency Health Services support older patients living with chronic conditions such as heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and diabetes, or who are at risk of falls. All patients must be referred by their primary care physician or local health care provider.
In addition, two ambulances and an Advanced Care Community Paramedic serve the Island. The paramedic may be dispatched if both ambulances are on calls; this paramedic can provide treatment until ambulance arrives for transport
