Rides Service for Medical Appointments

The Salt Spring Seniors Services Society provides a Rides Service for any resident of Salt Spring Island to medical appointments on-island, or in Duncan, Nanaimo, Sidney, Saanich, and Victoria. Most trips are fully covered by Island Health but for some trips, the passenger may be asked to get a TAP (Travel Assistance Program) form from their doctor, or to cover the ferry costs personally. There are no additional charges for the passenger.

As soon as you know your appointment date, call the 24/7 booking number: 1-844-940-6617. We may not be able to find drivers for bookings made within 2 days of travel.

This Island Health Service will connect you with our Rides Service and our volunteers will book a driver for your trip.
