Seniors Medical Rides Service

Our Seniors Medical Rides Service provides drives on-island, and to Duncan, Nanaimo, Sidney, and Victoria for medical appointments. This service is free, and partially funded by Island Health. For some trips, the passenger may be asked to get a pink TAP (Transportation Assistance Program) form from their doctor, or to cover the ferry costs.

We have many satisfied customers agreeing it is an excellent service!

Drivers are reimbursed quarterly according to the BC Government travel guidelines. Some drivers make year-end donations of part of their compensation for which they receive a charitable donation receipt. Our drivers and dispatchers are glad to help those in need, and we are so grateful for their generosity!

As soon as you know your appointment date, call the 24/7 booking number: 1-844-940-6617. This Island Health service will connect you with our rides program. For all trips, bookings must be phoned in at least two business days in advance.

Other inquiries (e.g., to volunteer as a driver or dispatcher, or to follow up on a requested booking) can be made to the Seniors Medical Rides Service desk at 250-537-4635 from 10am to 12-noon Monday to Friday.
